Make this: Guacamole
With Panera® Grocery items and a few more pantry ingredients, you can whip up this fresh guacamole in no time. Thanks to Panera associate @foodinthe_lou for the recipe!
You’ll need:
2 ripe avocados
1 tomato, diced
1/3 cup red onion, finely diced
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
2 small garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
Juice from 1 lime
½ tsp sea salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1. Slice the avocados in half and remove the pits.
2. Gently make evenly spaced vertical and horizontal cuts in each avocado half without piercing the skin to create a grid pattern. Use a spoon to scoop the pieces out and into a mixing bowl, discarding the skins.
3. Gently mash avocado pieces with a fork until mostly smooth but with some chunks remaining.
4. Add remaining ingredients to bowl and mix until combined.
Tips:
-Freshly squeezed lime juice tastes better than bottled, and the same goes for fresh cilantro.
-Take the heat up or down a notch by adding more or less jalapeño, or omitting it completely.
-Serve with salted tortilla chips with a hint of lime—or try with Panera Kettle Chips. Add queso and salsa alongside for the ultimate dip selection.
