Climate

 

We have a bold aspiration to go beyond Net Zero and become Climate Positive — removing more carbon than we emit by the end of 2050. Food systems produce over 30% of global carbon emissions – and we believe we have a responsibility to reduce our impact in the short-term and long-term. We are currently working to reduce our carbon emissions from our facilities and supply chain by the end of 2025 by offering more Coolfood Meals, shifting to circular packaging and moving to renewable electricity for our cafes.

We work with our partner, the World Resources Institute, to assess menu items and label those they certify as low carbon Coolfood meals. Low carbon meals help us empower our guests to help our planet too! Just look for a Coolfood certification mark on our digital menus to identify meals with a low carbon footprint.

We love being your go-to for your on-the-go favorites. We aim to choose sustainable packaging, keeping both materials and waste reduction in mind. We consider several criteria when selecting packaging, including the material the packaging is made from, the presence of chemical ingredients in it and if it can be reused, composted or recycled at the end of its life. In the spirit of reducing waste, you can now bring your own clean reusable drinkware to our participating cafes! Just ask your cashier to enter “Use My Own Cup” at checkout.* This includes Unlimited Sip Club members, too! Enjoy the self-serve drinks you love in your favorite cups, mugs and tumblers.
